A Bad Case of Wanderlust

Call it a 'First World Problem', but one of the worst feelings to have is a desperate need to travel, but not being able to do it due to financial restraints or pesky responsibilities. Here are just some of the signs that you've got that bad case of wanderlust.
Sign 1: If your house is on fire, you first grab your passport
Your passport will and always be your number one possession. Even if you can't jump on a plane any time soon, you always have your trusty passport by your side. In order of importance, it'll be your passport, your pets and then maybe your significant other. You probably keep your passport in a very safe place, and every now and then you take it out to look at the old faded stamps that adorn the pages.
Sign 2: You follow the exchange rates
If you have the bad kind of wanderlust, you're constantly aware of what's happening in international markets. Bulls, bears - you know, all the lingo and numbers there is to know. And when the exchange rate doesn't favour your travel plans, your mood is bad - so very bad.
Sign 3: You're ready to quit your job at the drop of a hat
You want to quit your job so badly that you even have a letter of resignation letter printed out. It's just sitting tight in your work desk drawer - perfectly enveloped and addressed appropriately. But deep down, you know it's not coming anytime soon. Travel isn't cheap and money has to come from somewhere.
Sign 4: You read newspapers only for the travel section
Travel sections are life. This also goes for other travel-related reading - magazines, Facebook pages and who knows, even maps. You get the low-downs and in-outs of countries you want to visit. You might even have a Pinterest vision board - just to be prepared.
Sign 5: The airport has and always been your favorite place
An airport is a strange combination of peace and chaos. But it's also one of the places you feel right at home. If you have a real bad case of wanderlust - it can make you do weird things. For example, you might find yourself hanging out alone at the airport just being entranced by the flight schedule flap board - because why not?
Sign 6: You watch everything with subtitles
When "Love Actually" screens on TV every Valentine's and Christmas, you can't help but get lost in everything that is Brit. But as wanderlust would have it - French movies and everything under the foreign radar impels you to watch it. And you've probably listened to Edith Piaf - 'La Vie en Rose' many, many times. At the end of the day, you feel like your real sense of home is when you're far from your comfort zone and experiencing something new.
