1 GENERAL
1.1 The SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon is organised in accordance to the rules and regulations of SAFRA and Singapore Armed Forces, hereby referred to as The Organisers.
1.2 The Organisers reserve the right to use any photograph, motion picture, recording, or any other record of this race and its participants for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising.
1.3 The Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules and regulations without prior notification.
1.4 The Army Half Marathon is organised in accordance with the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) and Army Half Marathon (AHM) Rules & Regulations and sanctioned by the Singapore Athletic Association (SAA).
1.5 The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event without any prior notification, in which case, the fees are non-refundable.
2 REGISTRATION
2.1 Participants must be 15 years and above on race day to participate in the Competitive category.
2.2 Participants in the Male Master Category must be 40 years old and above as of race day.
2.3 Participants in the Female Master Category must be 35 years old and above as of race day.
2.4 Participants below the age of 18 must seek parental or guardian consent before entering the race.
2.5 Registration will not be accepted after the closing date, nor on the event day itself.
2.6 Entry forms that are incomplete or sent via post/fax will NOT be accepted.
2.7 Entries are to be made on Official Registration Forms (photocopies accepted) available at all SAFRA Clubs and you can also download the registration form here.
2.8 Upon successful registration, you are not allowed to change the race category that you are registered for.
2.9 Race entry is non-transferable and non-refundable.
2.10 Once the registration form has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who eventually do not participate for whatever reason.
2.11 To ensure that your race details are correct, please check and update your personal particulars before Tue, 31 Aug 2010 here. Please note that only changes to personal particulars will be accepted.
2.12 The Organisers reserve the right to close registration before the official closing date should participation reaches its capacity before the date mentioned.
2.13 The Organisers will not be responsible for any dispute arising from incomplete details given by participants.
2.14 Completion of the entry form, including online registration evidences the participant’s agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of SSBR&AHM 2010.
2.15 The Organisers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries.
2.16 For online registration, a Registration Receipt will be sent to the registrant email address after the registration is successfully completed.
2.17 Criteria to be eligible for Loyalty Registration:
a. Applicable to online registration only
b. Only paticipants of SSBR & AHM 2009 are eligible
c. Registration is only for the Competitive categories only
d. Not valid with any other promotions or discounts
2.18 Criteria to be eligible for SAFRA Family Package run:
a. The main registrant must be a SAFRA member and has successfully registered for the 5km
Fun Run
b. Family members refers to the immediate family who stay under the same household with
main registrant
c. All eligible family members of the main registrant must complete the official registration
form with a copy of the official receipt and all their registering family members' copy of NRIC
(back) for proof of relationship status and household address
d. Each official receipt is only eligible for one-time submission
e. All registered family members will receive a 5km Fun Run running bib, certificate of
participation and stand a chance to win in the event lucky draw
f. The registered family members can purchase the event T-shirt at a special promotional
price of $8 (incl GST)
g. All entries have to be submitted to any SAFRA Club before 31 Aug 2010 to be eligible
for this promotion. Any late submission will not be accepted.
h. Not valid with any other promotions or discounts
2.19 Each participant can only take part in one single category.
2.20 The race registration will only be completed when full payment is made.
2.21 The actual distance of the respective competitive categories will be subjected to further confirmation with the sanctioning party before the race event.
3 RACE EXPO
3.1 All competitive runners are to collect their race packs at the race expo which will be informed at a later date.
3.2 Race pack will not issued to the runners after the race expo period.
3.3 A Race Pack Collection Slip will be sent to the registered participants email by 27 Aug 2010. Please inform The Organisers if you do not receive your Race Pack Collection Slip.
3.4 All registered participants are to bring along their Race Pack Collection Slip to collect their ace pack at the race expo.
4 RACE
4.1 While every reasonable precaution will be taken by The Organisers to ensure participants' safety, participants run at their own risk and The Organisers shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage, whether personal or otherwise, and howsoever arising.
4.2 The Organisers reserve the right to remove any unattended bag at the event premises for security reasons and will not be responsible for any losses or damages to the belongings.
4.3 The form on the reverse side of your number tag must be completed accurately in full.
4.4 Only registered runners for Competitive categories are allowed access to the Start Point. Runners must wear their allocated number tages on the front of their running attire near his/her chest area. Participants not wearing a number tag will be taken off the course by the officials and may result in disqualification.
4.5 A participant's failure to observe the Rules and Regulations may result in disqualification.
4.6 A grace period of 10 minutes after the commencement of the race will be given for latecomers. Any participant who reports later than this grace period will not be allowed to participate in the race. Latecomers should be aware that their timings commence when the race begins.

4.7 Road closure will be lifted after 11am. Participants will then continue on the footpath at their own risk.
4.8 Support vehicles or pacers (other than officially appointed by The Organisers) are not allowed.
4.9 Any dispute arising from the participation in the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon shall be referred to Arbitration to be conducted in Singapore under the law of Singapore Arbitration Court.
4.10 A participant who protests against another competitor or notifies of violation by a contestant must do so in writing to The Organisers within 30 minutes of his/her finishing time. A deposit of S$50 or equivalent must accompany the appropriate protest and will be refunded if the protest is successful. All decisions made by the Appeal Board shall be final and irrefutable.
4.11 The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable (i.e. severe physical harm) of continuing the race.
4.12 Runners must not run with exposed torsos.
4.13 All participants are required to report at the Start Point one hour prior to flag-off time.
4.14 In accordance with IAAF Rules, a runner must retire from the race immediately if requested by any member of the official medical staff.
4.15 No pets or any form of wheel-run objects or transport, e.g. in-line skates, prams, pushchairs, shoes with rollers etc, are allowed on the course.
4.16 All participants who successfully complete the race will be awarded a Finisher's Medal at the Finish Line, with the number tag as proof of participation.
4.17 All participants who successfully complete the race will be awareded a Certificate of Achievement via mail. The Organisers are not responsible for any undelivered certificates due to incorrect addressess.
4.18 The Certificate of Achievement will only be sent out to local mailing addresses.
4.19 Participants who fail to complete or was disqualified will not be awarded with a certificate of achievement.
5 TIMING DEVICE
5.1 All participants must ensure that their timing devices are securely strapped to their left ankles before beginning any leg of the race.
5.2 Participants who do not adhere to this rule of strapping the timing device to their left ankle before the start of their race will be disqualified.
5.3 The timing device is a disposable timing device for one-time use only. Participants
do not need to return it to The Organisers after the race.
5.4 The adopted timing device is the sole mean of race timing measurement.
5.5 The Organisers will not be responsible for any inaccuracy in participant’s race timings.
5.6 An identification antenna is embedded in the timing device for competitive runners. The runner’s particulars & timings will be recorded electronically. Runners who fail to bring their timing device on the event day will not participate as competitive runners and Certificate of Achievements will not be issued upon the successful completion of the run.
5.7 The Organisers will not refund runners who forget to bring their timing device on the race day.
5.8 Competitive runners are to run through the gantries set up at various points of the route. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
6 MEDICAL ADVISORY
6.1 All SAF active full-time national servicemen and regulars must be PES A, B or C1 to participate in the Competitive Event.
6.2 All SAF regulars above 35 years old must produce their active FFI on the race day.
6.3 All SAF active full-time national servicemen and regulars who failed their PAR-Q are to seek medical advice and inform their commander on their medical condition.
6.4 Should any participant feel unwell in the course of the race, he/she should stop and seek immediate medical attention at designated medical posts.
6.5 Participants should prepare themselves adequately and gradually increase the duration and intensity of their training over several weeks prior to the event.
6.6 Participants should that they are well-rested and well-hydrated prior to the run.
6.7 Should a participant feel unwell during his/her run, stop and seek immediate medical attention at the medical posts along the route.
6.8 Participants are advised not to attend the event should they have fever, cough, breathing difficulties or severe muscle ache.
6.9 Participants are advised to consult their family doctors to certify them fit to participate in the event.
6.10 Participants are not eligible to participate in any of the competitive categories if they have ticked "Yes" to any of the PAR-Q questions.
6.11 Participants who have doubts about their suitability to participate in this event (e.g. those on medication or those who have had recent health complaints) are advised to consult their family doctors prior to participation in the event.
6.12 To minimise injuries, always do at least 15 minutes of warm-up/stretching before the start and at the end of training.
6.13 Participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol or stimulants or any kind of drugs within 24 hours of the race.
6.14 Participants are advised to dress lightly for the run and ensure that they are well-rested & hydrated on the day of the event.
