EMS is a newly established art collective that seeks to explore the local and international art scene. It is a culmination of three minds and spirits; Victor Emmanuel, Michael Loke and Stellah Lim. EMS embodies the three qualities of Expression, Materiality and Sustainability. With these in mind, they would like to involve everybody in the creation of something.
Starting with local communities, EMS Art Collective aims to create thought-provoking community engagement projects, public art etc. It also hopes to develop a holistic and immersive experience within local communities.
Its vision is to understand cultural diversities and introduce sustainable means to create meaningful art works with interactive and interesting methodologies.
EMS Art Collective is the Artist-in-Residence @ SAFRA Toa Payoh under the Arts@SAFRA Community Arts Residency Programme. They will showcase their creativity and regularly present their works while involving the Toa Payoh community!
EMS Art Collective will be creating and curating a Community Mural and Researcher’s Office installation to celebrate Toa Payoh’s rich history and they would like YOU to be involved! They will be around for the next 10 weeks (till end Feb) and you can have a chance to co-create this installation with them as part of the Arts@SAFRA Community Arts Residency Programme.
EMS will be hosting 2 workshops—Eh! Where You? and Eh! Meet Where? during the months of Nov, Dec 2020 and Jan 2021. Workshops are free of charge and you get to add a part of your creation to the final installation! More details can be found on here.
Are you a resident of Toa Payoh? Or know of someone who has been living in Toa Payoh for the longest time? EMS would like to speak to you! Drop us an email, or contact EMS via their Instagram page as we would love to hear from you!
