Participant Rules & Regulations

●This Competition is open to Singaporeans & Singapore PRs aged 17 - 35 years old. Minimum age for participation is 17 years as of 2019.

●Employees of SAFRA and the immediate families of such employees, including spouses, children, parents, parents-in-law and siblings are not allowed to participate.

●Registration is free of charge.

●Participants can be either soloists or a group of maximum 5 members.

●Participants must not have the following commitments (whether legal or in writing):

  • A current music recording or music publishing contract;
  • A current performing contract;
  • A current agreement relating to the use of your name, voice and/or likeness;
  • Any other contractual arrangement that will prohibit you from fully participating in the event and/or entering into any contracts required by SAFRA or its partners, including an exclusive management contract, recording contract, and music publishing contract.

●Participants selected for each of the 2 competitive rounds must be available on the competition dates. Absentees shall be immediately disqualified from the Competition.

●It is the responsibility of the participant to have read the Rules & Regulations and Terms & Conditions before registering their participation and submitting the link to Participant’s video.

●By participating in the competition, Participant agrees to be bounded to all the Rules & Regulations and Terms & Conditions stated herein.

Registration & Video Submission

All registrations will be done via here and all fields are to be completed and video submissions to be uploaded on contestant’s Instagram account with the hashtag #SAFRATUT2020.
The registration and video submission must be completed by11 Dec 2020 @ 11.59pm.
Video submissions must be uploaded with a link to the video. Requests for an extension of the submission deadline will not be entertained, and late submissions will be disqualified.
Details of all the group members for the Group Category must be provided.
The video submission must be posted on the contestant’s own Instagram profile (set to public) along with the hashtag #SAFRATUT2020. The Instagram video should also be at least 40 seconds long and not more than 1 minute.

Competition Category: Singing

Participants can choose to sing in acapella (without background music), or with live accompaniment using acoustic instruments (e.g. guitars, keyboard, cajon, etc.).
Contestants can submit their songs in either English or Mandarin.
Successfully submitted entries will receive an acknowledgment email, stating your contestant number. Your contestant number will remain the same throughout the competition. It is non-transferable and cannot be changed.

Competition Category: Dance

Participants may choose to dance in any style/genre.
Participants warrant and agree that their participation in this competition (in whole or in part):
a) have not been published previously;
b) do not and will not infringe any third party rights (including intellectual property rights or rights of privacy, publicity or confidentiality) and that the Participant has full rights and authority to submit and perform the song;
c) are not unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, profane, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, politically incorrect, violent, abusive, insulting, scandalous, inflammatory, harassing, threatening, racist, ageist, sexist, objectionable with respect to religion, origin or gender, unsuitable for children under 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication or objectionable; will not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity.

Entries that are found to be in breach of any of the above shall be disqualified.
SAFRA reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and reserves the right to disqualify any
Participant who:
a) tampers with the submission process;
b) submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions;
c) has, in the opinion of SAFRA, engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct which jeopardises, or may jeopardise, the fair and proper conduct of the competition; and/or
d) has engaged in conduct in entering the competition which is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the competition and/or SAFRA.
It is the responsibility of the Participant to have read the Rules & Regulations and Terms & Conditions before registering their participation and submitting the video file
By participating in the competition, Participant agrees to be bound to all the Rules & Regulations and Terms & Conditions stated herein

The Competition

All entries received by 11 Dec 2020 will be subjected to an internal judging process to determine a list of shortlisted contestants.
Participants who have been shortlisted will be notified via email, as well as be published on the SAFRA TUT webpage.
Organisers reserve the right to reject any videos due to poor audio or video quality.
The judges' decision on the results of the competition is final and no correspondence or appeal will be entertained.
Shortlisted contestants will receive a brief detailing the submissions required for the coming competitive round from the organisers. Contestants are expected to respond promptly with the required submissions, and comply with the timelines set.
Contestants are to note the following for the various competitive rounds.
Jan 2021 Qualifiers - To perform dance routine for 2 minutes
- To sing for 2 minutes, in acapella or accompanied by permitted acoustic instruments
- To do hosting stint for 2 minutes
Mar 2021 Grand Finals - To perform full dance routine for 6 minutes
- To perform the full song, with MMO or accompanied by permitted acoustic instruments
- To do a hosting stint for 6 minutes

Only acoustic instruments are permitted for the competition, which includes, but not limited to, acoustic guitar, ukulele, keyboard (with piano sounds), cajon, djembe or any other small percussion instruments. No electric guitar and/or drumset will be allowed.
Participants are required to bring their own instruments. Microphones, keyboard stands and the supporting sound system will be provided.
All participants are to arrange for their own costumes, hair styling and makeup.
Usage of props is strictly not allowed.
No vulgarity, obscenity, or aggression is allowed in any part of the competition.
All performing apparel and performing stage names must not bear any inappropriate, offensive/vulgar language or insignia. Apparel and performance must not be overly revealing.
All finalists proceeding to the Grand Finals are expected to attend a coaching class / preparation workshop before the final round takes place, details of which will be shared nearer to the date.
Prizes are not transferrable and not redeemable for cash, credit or otherwise. The Organisers reserve the rights to substitute any, or all, of the prizes to be awarded, Rules & Regulations, Terms & Conditions without prior notice

Media Rights

The Organisers reserve the right to record, reproduce, use, or transmit in any form, manner or by any means, any photographs (including those of Participants/ Staff/ volunteers), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of this event, for publicity purposes, commercial advertising and distribution to its sponsors and partners.

By submitting your video, you agree that all rights, title and interest in the submitted video are assigned to the organising committee. You agree that the organising committee has the rights to use the video in any manner deem fits, without seeking permission from you.

Please note that non-official photographers might operate at TUT and the subsequent photographs may be freely used in print, digital media or elsewhere, over which SAFRA has no control and SAFRA is not responsible in any way for the content produced by non-official photographers.


Indemnity And Exclusion Of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, by participating in the Competition, each Participant releases SAFRA, its subsidiaries, agents and assigns from, and indemnifies the same against, any liability for loss, cost, expense or damage to person or property suffered or incurred arising out of, or in connection with, the Competition, or the collection or use of any prize.

SAFRA shall not be held liable or responsible for any delay and/or failure in the receipt of entry due to the inability of the respective Internet Service Provider [ISP] company and/or telecommunication network to provide timely and/or efficient internet and/or telecommunication services.

Participants also agree that the Organiser is not responsible nor liable for any delay, injury or damage to the Participant’s and/or any third party's computer, computer system or apparatus relating to or resulting from the access to, participation in this Competition and in connection with this Competition, submission/uploading of the information for this Competition, including without limitation any server failure, lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction.

SAFRA is also not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of, user or member communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telecommunication network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet and/or telecommunication networks.

SAFRA reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel this Competition in the event that it becomes incapable of running as planned, technically interfered or corrupted, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Organiser, despite the best efforts of the Organiser.

The SAFRA Privacy Policy outlines how SAFRA manages your personal data including the purposes for which your personal data may have been or may be collected, used or disclosed. With effect from 2 July 2014, the Privacy Policy forms a part of the terms and conditions governing your relationship with SAFRA (“Terms and Conditions”) and should be read in conjunction with those Terms and Conditions.

By participating and attending this event, you consent to being photographed and/or video recorded and that the organisers may use such photographs and/or videos in any way, including but not limited to publicity purposes. In addition, you consent to the use of your personal data by SAFRA for purposes relating to personnel, general business purposes, and any purposes reasonably connected with this event.
