SAFVL membership has its unique privileges and special meaning.
SAFVL is a branch of SAFRA and all SAFVL members are Associate Members of SAFRA, which means SAFVL members can enjoy the facilities at all SAFRA clubhouses.
More than that, SAFVL organises many events and activities for its members to foster camaraderie among its members. These include regular gatherings on festive occasions and overseas trips to ASEAN countries where the annual meetings of the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries (VECONAC) are held. SAFVL members attend these VECONAC meetings as observers and the programme includes visits to places of interest arranged by the host country.
Invitations are also regularly extended to SAFVL members to attend Basic Military Training Passing Out Parades, Specialist Cadet Graduation Parades and Officer Cadet Commissioning Parades, and the annual SAF Day Parade on 1 July.
Members also participate in yearly memorial services on Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day at the Kranji War Memorial, Total Defence Day at the Civilian War Memorial at the War Memorial Park on Beach Road, and the Konfrontasi Memorial Ceremony at Dhoby Ghaut Green, Orchard Road.
