How do I know if my vehicle is eligible for OBU Installation?
All vehicles registered before 1 May 2024 are eligible for a free IU-OBU installation unless exempted from the mandatory OBU requirement. You will receive a letter and an email/SMS inviting you to contact an LTA authorised workshop to schedule your OBU installation appointment.
I own multiple vehicles. Do I have to individually book an appointment for each of my vehicles?
You will have to individually book an appointment for each of your vehicles.
Will there be changes to my existing IU number?
No, the existing IU number remains. This is for the convenience of the motorist so that they do not need to re-apply or make changes to their existing parking arrangements that is registered with the existing IU number.
Can I book an appointment on behalf of someone else?
Yes, you may schedule an OBU installation appointment on behalf of the vehicle owner.
What happens if I am late or miss my appointment?

What do I need to bring for the appointment? Do I need to prepare or pre-register for anything before bringing my vehicle to the workshop?
Once your appointment is confirmed, all you have to do is to bring your vehicle down for the OBU installation. No other documents are required. If you are unavailable, anyone can bring your vehicle down for the OBU installation. No proof of identity is required.
What is the average installation time?
Installation typically takes around 2 to 4 hours, but this may vary depending on the vehicle make and model. On the day of the appointment, we will assess your vehicle and advise you on the specific collection time.
