Verity

Release Date:
1 October 2026
Starring: Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Colleen Hoover, Michael Showalter, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Jordana Mollick

A deliciously dark psychological thriller built around secrets, obsession and the unreliable nature of truth, Verity follows struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, who is hired by bestselling author Verity Crawford’s husband to complete his wife’s hugely successful book series after a mysterious accident leaves Verity unable to write. But when Lowen uncovers a disturbing manuscript hidden in the Crawford home, the job quickly turns into something far more sinister, forcing her to question everything she knows about Verity, her family and even her own perceptions. Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel and directed by Michael Showalter, the film brings together Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett in a potent mix of psychological suspense, erotic tension and domestic paranoia. With its central mystery hinging on one tantalising question, whether Verity’s manuscript reveals the truth or an elaborate deception, Verity looks set to turn the familiar thriller trope of “the story within the story” into a twisted game of trust, manipulation and buried secrets.

Digger

Release Date: 2 October 2026
Starring: Tom Cruise, Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed

From Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the acclaimed filmmaker behind Birdman, The Revenant and Bardo, comes Digger, a darkly comic collision of wealth, power and impending catastrophe. Tom Cruise stars as Digger Rockwell, an eccentric oil tycoon who finds himself racing to convince the world that he is its saviour after unleashing a disaster of his own making. With Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons and Michael Stuhlbarg rounding out an unusually heavyweight ensemble, the film marks a striking change of pace for Cruise, trading the straight-ahead heroics of his recent blockbusters for Iñárritu’s brand of absurdist, satirical filmmaking. Shot on 35mm VistaVision by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, Digger promises to be as visually ambitious as it is gleefully strange, a $125 million black comedy that puts one of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the hands of one of its most unpredictable directors.

Other Mommy

Release Date: 8 October 2026
Starring: Jessica Chastain, Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, with Arian Moayed and Karen Allen

If there is one thing horror has taught us, it is that nothing is more unsettling than something familiar becoming unmistakably wrong. Other Mommy takes that fear straight into the home, following young Bela as she encounters a sinister supernatural entity that looks and sounds like her mother… and wants to be let inside. Directed by Rob Savage, whose work includes Host and The Boogeyman, and adapted from Josh Malerman’s 2024 novel Incidents Around the House, the film stars Jessica Chastain in the dual role of Bela’s mother Ursula and her terrifying doppelgänger. With James Wan producing alongside Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, Other Mommy has all the ingredients for a tightly wound supernatural nightmare, but its most disturbing element may be the simple premise at its heart: what happens when a child can no longer tell whether the person coming to comfort her is actually her mother?

Screening at Shaw Theatres and movie theatres islandwide from 8 October 2026. Click here for more information and to book tickets.

Street Fighter

Release Date: 15 October 2026
Starring: Jason Momoa, David Dastmalchian, Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, 50 Cent

Thirty years after Street Fighter first punched its way onto the big screen, the iconic Capcom fighting game gets another live-action reboot, and this time, it is going all in on the colourful chaos of the source material. Set in 1993, Street Fighter follows estranged martial artists Ryu and Ken as they are recruited by Chun-Li to compete in the World Warrior Tournament, only to find themselves facing M. Bison and a host of familiar fighters along the way. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film boasts an intentionally wild ensemble featuring Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Callina Liang, David Dastmalchian, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and 50 Cent, with characters including Akuma, Guile, Dhalsim, Balrog, Blanka and Zangief joining the fray. With its mix of martial arts action, comedy and larger-than-life personalities, the film looks poised to embrace the arcade game’s wonderfully over-the-top spirit rather than play it straight. We look forward to seeing the Hadoukens, spinning piledrivers and outrageous costumes translate into a satisfying big-screen brawl. With this many legendary fighters crammed into one tournament, Street Fighter is certainly not pulling its punches!

Screening at Shaw Theatres and movie theatres islandwide from 15 October 2026. Click here for more information and to book tickets.

Whalefall

Release Date: 15 October 2026
Starring: Austin Abrams, Josh Brolin, Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy, Emily Rudd

What if your worst nightmare was not being stranded at sea, but being swallowed by the sea itself? Whalefall turns an already terrifying diving expedition into a full-blown survival nightmare, following a young scuba diver searching for his father’s remains who is suddenly swallowed alive by a sperm whale and given just an hour to escape. Directed by Brian Duffield, whose previous work includes No One Will Save You and Spontaneous, and adapted from Daniel Kraus’ novel, the film stars Austin Abrams alongside Josh Brolin and Elisabeth Shue. With the action shifting from the vast openness of the Pacific Ocean to the claustrophobic interior of a whale, Whalefall offers a distinctly nightmarish take on the survival thriller, one that combines grief, family trauma and an almost absurdly terrifying fight for survival.

Screening at Shaw Theatres and movie theatres islandwide from 15 October 2026. Click here for more information and to book tickets.

Clayface

Release Date:
22 October 2026

Starring: Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan

Forget the capes and cosmic battles… Clayface takes the DC Universe into much darker territory with a full-blooded body-horror thriller. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, a rising Hollywood actor whose career and appearance are brutally destroyed, sending him to Dr Caitlin Bates (Naomi Ackie) and an experimental treatment that restores his looks but comes with a horrifying price. As Hagen’s body begins to transform and his grip on reality slips, his desperation mutates into an all-consuming quest for revenge. With its themes of identity, humanity, toxic love and the dangerous pursuit of scientific breakthroughs, Clayface is a distinctly gruesome take on one of Gotham’s most shape-shifting villains and marks DC Studios’ first major foray into outright horror.

Screening at Shaw Theatres and movie theatres islandwide from 22 October 2026. Click here for more information and to book tickets.
