1. What is UAFA@SAFRA?

UAFA@SAFRA (Unmanned Aircraft Flying Area @ SAFRA) is a designated recreational unmanned aircraft flying area introduced by SAFRA in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). It provides unmanned aircraft enthusiasts with a safe and dedicated space to enjoy recreational flying.

2. Where are the UAFA@SAFRA sites located?

UAFA@SAFRA is available at the following SAFRA clubs:

  • SAFRA Choa Chu Kang
  • SAFRA Mount Faber
  • SAFRA Tampines
  • SAFRA Toa Payoh

The flying areas are located within selected futsal and squash courts.

3. How do I book a flying session?

Bookings can be made via the SAFRA Mobile App or m.safra.sg. Advance booking is recommended as slots are subject to availability.

  1. Sign up or lo gin to your account
  2. Click to [Events & Courses] tab and select [Course Registration]
  3. Select the clubhouse where you would like to book the UAFA@SAFRA
  4. Select the Event
  5. Once selection is done, click register
  6. Verify the information listed. If all is accurate, click register
  7. Check the box of terms & conditions
  8. Ensure all the details are correct and click to confirm
  9. Once completed, you should receive a receipt of your event registration via your account email.
  10. If you did not receive the email, please email to the respective club to verify your registration.

  4. At the top of the page you will see [Events For You], click on [View All] in grey
  5. Scroll and select the clubhouse where you would like to book the UAFA@SAFRA

  7. The description are at the page, proceed to [Register Now]
  8. Select the check box of terms & conditions
  9. Ensure all details are correct and click to book
  10. Once completed, you should receive a receipt of your event registration via your account email.
  11. If you did not receive the email, please email to the respective club to verify your registration.

4. Is there a booking fee?

No. Bookings are complimentary during the six-month trial period.

5. Who can use UAFA@SAFRA?

UAFA@SAFRA is open to members of the public who wish to fly unmanned aircrafts for recreational purposes.

6. Are there any rules i need to follow while flying?

Yes. All users must follow the UAFA@SAFRA conditions of use at the respective clubs displayed on-site and online. Fly responsibly, be considerate of other users and ensure safety at all times.

7. Can beginners use UAFA@SAFRA?

Yes. Both beginners and experienced unmanned aircraft enthusiasts are welcome. The flying areas provide a dedicated environment for users to practise and improve their flying skills.

8. Are the obstacle courses mandatory?

No. The simple flying obstacles are optional and are provided to enhance the recreational flying experience. Users may choose whether to utilise them during their session.

9. Can I bring spectators?

Yes. Spectators are welcome to observe from the designated viewing areas outside the flying zone. For safety reasons, only the booked participant is allowed within the flying area.

10. How many participants are allowed per booking?

Each booking is limited to one (1) participant. If others wish to fly, they will need to make separate bookings, subject to slot availability.

11. What should I do if my unmanned aircraft gets stuck in the netting?

If your unmanned aircraft becomes lodged in the netting or another inaccessible area, please do not attempt to retrieve it yourself. Inform the Customer Service Officer (CSO) or the onsite staff for assistance. Fees may apply for unmanned aircraft retrieval services, where applicable.

12. What happens if there is bad weather?

For safety reasons, flying may be suspended during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, thunderstorms or strong winds. Users are advised to check the weather before heading down, and SAFRA reserves the right to suspend flying activities if conditions are deemed unsafe.
