CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

CLOSURE OF ENTERTAINMENT, ENRICHMENT AND CHILDREN’S PLAY FACILITIES & SUSPENSION OF ACTIVITIES AT SAFRA

In light of the tighter measures to minimise further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) announced by the Multi-Ministry Taskforce on 24 March 2020, the following will take effect at all SAFRA facilities from 26 March, 2359 hours, to 30 April 2020.

  • All entertainment and enrichment facilities will be closed. All tenant outlets at SAFRA clubs offering entertainment, as well as centre-based tuition and enrichment classes, have been advised to adopt the same measures, except for those allowed to remain open by the Ministry of Health (MOH) or Ministry of Education (MOE).

  • A series of other SAFRA-managed facilities will also be closed to minimise gatherings in close proximity over a prolonged duration, such as BBQ pits, children’s play areas, dance studios and function rooms.

  • All SAFRA-managed facilities which remain open will strictly adhere to safe distancing measures in accordance to MOH’s guidelines, such as restricting operating capacity to ensure that each venue does not have more than one person per 16 square metres of usable space, and limiting gatherings to 10 persons or fewer.

  • All SAFRA-organised events and courses will be cancelled.

  • All SAFRA interest group and competitive sports club activities and training will be suspended.

All affected individuals who have registered for courses or booked facilities during this period will be contacted shortly by the respective organisers or facility owners on refund or deferred arrangements, where applicable.

The safety of our members and the public remains our top priority. Affected facilities and programmes may remain closed / suspended beyond 30 April 2020 should the COVID-19 situation worsen, or the authorities decide to extend the measures.

We urge our members and the public to observe the tightened measures, to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. We can beat the COVID-19 together. Kindly refer to the below for the full list of facilities.

CLOSURE OF TURANDOT MUSIC RESTAURANT BAR AT SAFRA MOUNT FABER

On 22 March 2020, SAFRA was informed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that a patient diagnosed to have the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) had visited Turandot Music Restaurant Bar located at SAFRA Mount Faber on 11 March 2020.

While MOH has not placed any operations restriction, as a precautionary measure, the management have decided to close Turandot Music Restaurant Bar upon receipt of the notice from MOH and the premises cleaned and disinfected according to NEA guidelines. Turandot Music Restaurant Bar will re-open on 27 March 2020.

ENERGYONE GYM AT SAFRA PUNGGOL REOPENED AFTER BEING THOROUGHLY CLEANSED & DISINFECTED

On 8 March 2020, SAFRA was informed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that a confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient identified as Case 138 had visited EnergyOne gym at SAFRA Punggol on 6 March 2020. He was at SAFRA Punggol from 7.36pm to 9.32pm.

The affected individual was allowed entry into SAFRA Punggol as he did not trigger any of the risk factors related to COVID-19 infection – he had cleared mandatory temperature checks, declared that he did not have any travel history to designated countries and was not in close contact with any confirmed cases in the past 14 days.

As a precautionary measure, all visitors and employees at SAFRA Punggol were evacuated on receipt of the notice from MOH. The gym along with all other possible areas visited by the affected individual were cleansed and disinfected based on National Environment Agency guidelines. All employees who were on duty and who might have been in contact with the affected individual have been asked to stay at home for 14 days to monitor their health. SAFRA has been working closely with the MOH on contact tracing efforts.

As announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on 9 March 2020, Case 138 has been discharged and we are glad he has now fully recovered. EnergyOne gym at SAFRA Punggol has been reopened on 11 March 2020. We welcome our EnergyOne members back to our now spick-and-span gym.

These precautionary measures have been stepped up since the MOH raised the Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) alert level to orange:

Mandatory temperature taking and declaration of travel history, health and contact details for contact tracing, by all visitors to SAFRA clubs and activities with strict entry requirements. All employees are also required to take their temperatures twice daily, and seek medical attention and stay home if they have any flu-like symptoms or are unwell.
Increased the cleaning of frequently touched surfaces to once hourly, and tripled the frequency of cleaning at common areas along with the provision of hand sanitisers.
Health advisories displayed at all SAFRA clubs and emailed to members to encourage good personal hygiene practices to keep our community safe.

SAFRA was informed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on 5 March 2020 that a cluster of eight confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases linked to a private dinner function held at Joy Garden Restaurant at SAFRA Jurong on 15 February 2020. These were identified as Cases 94, 96, 107, 112, 114, 115, 116 and 117.

Joy Garden Restaurant had closed for cleaning from 16 to 19 February 2020 following the dinner function as a hygiene practice. However, as a precautionary measure, the restaurant along with all other possible areas which might have been visited by the affected individuals was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected again starting 5 March 2020 night, with strict adherence to guidelines from the National Environment Agency. The restaurant will reopen on 18 March 2020.

All confirmed cases that gained entry to SAFRA Jurong on 15 February 2020 had cleared the mandatory temperature checks conducted at the entrance of the club. They did not have fever, nor exhibited any flu-like symptoms. They also did not have any recent travel history to Mainland China within the past 14 days of their visit to the club as stated within their declaration.

The safety and well-being of our NSmen and the community remain our utmost priority. SAFRA will continue to monitor the situation closely.
