SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Art Installation

"Ever Ready With Our Lives"

National Servicemen dedicate a significant part of their lives to serving the Nation, stepping forward to safeguard Singapore with steadfast commitment and purpose.

At the heart of this dedication lies their love and concern for family, friends, and community. Beyond their roles as soldiers, NSmen are also sons, brothers, fathers, husbands, colleagues, and friends.

While the image of an NSman is often associated with military camps, drills, and uniforms, it is important to recognise that their identity extends far beyond their duties in the SAF. They are multifaceted individuals with personal stories, relationships, and experiences that shape who they are.

NSmen are strengthened by the support of their families, loved ones, and communities. The anamorphic installation of the Mobilisation Man reflects this very idea. Constructed using not only military items but also everyday objects, the installation symbolises the connection between NSmen and the people who journey alongside them.

Each non-military item featured carries a meaningful story shared by an NSman, illustrating how these seemingly ordinary objects played a significant role throughout their National Service journey.

This installation serves as a poignant reminder that our NSmen stand ever ready to serve the Nation, guided by a strong sense of duty and a commitment to protecting the people and communities they hold dear.

“Ever Ready With Our Lives” encapsulates the resilience and unwavering dedication of these extraordinary individuals.
