Guided Bus Tour - Defending the Island Tour

The Fall of Singapore marked a pivotal event for the British Empire. The "Defending the Island" tour offers a poignant contrast between the horrors of war experienced by both combatants and civilians and Singapore's current prosperity. This historical perspective underscores the nation's resilience and the multifaceted strategies that ensure its continued survival, with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) playing a pivotal role in safeguarding against potential threats.

• Emphasizing Singapore's self-reliance in defence, highlighting the importance of resilience and fighting spirit demonstrated during wartime.
• The extensive static defences at Labrador Park facing south underscore the importance of strategic planning and readiness for conflict.
• Seventy years later, Singapore's economic success confronts new and unforeseen challenges, emphasizing the imperative for Digital Defence and other contemporary measures. The tour encourages reflection on Singapore's journey from vulnerability to resilience, guided by the imperative to protect its future prosperity and security.

Pre-registration is via SAFRA Mobile App, My SAFRA Portal and any SAFRA Club’s Customer Service Counter.

Program

Terms & Conditions:

• This event is open to SAFRA members only.
• 2-way transportation will be provided to and fro between the respective clubs and destination.
• Each registration entitles entry for 2 participants.
• It is mandatory for all kids to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Registration will be opened from 15 January 2026. Registration will be closed 3 days before the activity date or once the maximum capacity is reached, whichever earlier.
• Registration will be on first come first serve basis. All payments are to be made prior to participating in the activity/event/workshop.
• Complete the entire transaction to checkout with cart payment to ensure a successful registration. Your registration is not successful if you did not receive a receipt via email.
• Withdrawal/Cancellation: No refunds shall be given if the participant wished to withdraw from event/workshop/course for any reason. No refunds shall be given or make-up session conducted if the participant misses the session for any reason.
• Payments are non-refundable unless activity/event/workshop/course is being cancelled by SAFRA.
• SAFRA reserves full rights to cancel or change details of the activity/event/workshop/course without prior notice.
• The relevant indemnity form shall be filled in by SAFRA members who have registered for the event. Failing which, SAFRA reserves the right to refuse entry to any participants.

Camo & Uniform Experience

Step into the military uniforms for a fun, interactive photo op and try your hand at camo face painting. 

Terms & Conditions:

• This activity is exclusively for SAFRA members. 
• In respect of the uniform, participants with improper footwear will not be allowed to participate. Participants are required to wear fully covered shoes during the activity (no slippers or sandals), Sports attire is recommended.  
• SAFRA reserves the right to withdraw/amend/append any terms & conditions without prior notice. The decision of SAFRA is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

Wartime Food Experience

Taste the simple survival meals made from tapioca during wartime and gain a deeper understanding of the resilience it took during tough times. While stocks last.

Total Defence Communication Challenge  

Put your teamwork to the test! Use walkie-talkies to communicate and place the Total Defence pillars in the correct order. A fun, brain-teasing challenge that will sharpen your problem-solving and listening skills!

• Each registration is for 1 pair only, it can be a parent-child pair OR 2 children.
• Participants have to report 15 mins before the timeslot they book or the slot will be given to others.
• All participants have to attend the briefing before playing the game.
• For safety reasons, participants with improper footwear will not be allowed to participate. Participants are required to wear fully covered shoes during the activity (no slippers or sandals). Sports attire is recommended.
• Pre-registration will be open until the event date itself. Registration will close earlier once the maximum capacity is reached.
• Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. All payments are to be made prior to participating in the activity.
